Do I need to pre-book ticket for the train? (Hazlehatch to Dublin)

Hi, I am looking to see what trains I can get from Hazelhatch (Celbridge) to Dublin Connoly or Grand Canal Dock.

According to the journey planner on irishrail.ie, and direct route it says "No Online Tickets." When I click the link it gives (https://www.irishrail.ie/en-ie/faqs/no-online-tickets-why) it lists a few reasons why there may be no online tickets including:

• Government COVID-19 measures in place during this time permit 100% percent of capacity to be made available for use on board rail services. All Intercity services have mandatory pre-booking until further notice as a result tickets cannot be purchased at the Station. See our guide on what services would be deemed as Intercity.* (https://www.irishrail.ie/en-ie/news/pre-booking-mandatory-for-travel-on-intercity-rail#intercityservicesguide)
• The origin or destination station/s selected may be within the suburban area and may not be bookable online. Tickets for these locations should be bought at your local station either at the booking office or from a ticket vending machine (TVM)

However I cannot see if the trains from Hazelhatch are regarded as a "commuter" train and do not need to be pre-booked online. https://www.irishrail.ie/Admin/IrishRail/media/Timetable-PDF-s/Heuston-timetables/16-Dublin-Portlaoise.pdf Does anyone know?

Also I see Hazlehatch mentioned on the DART timetables, https://www.irishrail.ie/IrishRail/media/Timetable-PDF-s/Connolly-DART-timetables/4-_18-_dart_commuter.pdf but does anyone know how to interpret these, it is not listed along the left sequential list of stops, but rather across a block in the middle of the timetable.

One more thing, does anyone know if they new L58/L59 busses introduced with the C-Spine on BusConnects are in sync with the traim times. e.g. if the bus is a little late or stuck in traffic, does the train plow on anyway, or wait for the bus?

Hazelhatch is in the Dublin Short Hop zone and as such you cannot buy tickets online, but only at the station. Your cheapest option is to use LEAP card.

As for the timetables, the first timetable lists all of the trains that serve Hazelhatch. LEAP is valid on all of them to any of the city centre stations.

The second timetable you link to above is to show all services along the DART line and as far north as Newry and south to Gorey. It only shows the times of Hazelhatch services at the city centre stations - so if someone is going from Connolly to Pearse they can see the full service between those stations in that timetable.

The buses and trains at Hazelhatch operate independently of one another and don't wait for one another I am afraid if one is late.

No, you dont need to pre book tickets. Just enter hazel hatch to grand canal dock in the journey planner and you will get all the times. Hazel hatch is well within the commuter zone.
