Quick one. For years I have purposely kept my PayPal such that it needs PayPal password entered to complete any purchase.

I also don't use payment processing on phone like Google pay.

Up to today, whenever I make a purchase, somewhere in the transaction I have to enter my PayPal password. I like it this way for security.

Now today I went to buy some extra space on Google drive. Straight in. Money taken via PayPal without signing into Paypal.

I know Google is fairly well integrated with PayPal but still its abit scary.

    What's the story there.

Most likely you have a preauthorised payment set up. This can happen sometimes when you make a payment - they setup a preauthorised payment instead of just taking a single payment.

Log into Paypal, click on the setup icon, then payments, then manage automatic payments, you should see a list something like this:

Click on payments and cancel anyones you don't need.
