Just moved into a new property and having an issue with the uPVC front door.

Can't seem to open the door from the inside with the handle, the key is needed to open it. The handles are loose and I'm hoping it's that but I'm wondering if it might be a mechanism inside.

Any idea of what might cause this? Any help appreciated.

More than likely the spindle has retracted into the outer handle. Tightening the handles might fix this or the spindle might just be too short - in which case you can stuff something into the handle.

assuming this is a standard door where a lever is on both the outside and inside of the door.
