Smart bulb setup to Vodafone Gigabox Modem

    Hi,

I have been using smart bulbs for the last few years and have had no issue setting them up with sky, eir, virgin networks.

I switched to Vodafone last week and can't pair the bulbs to the network.

I need to be in 2.5 Ghz to connect. As far as I can make out the Vodafone Gigabox Modem Vox30r1 autoselects the band it thinks you need.

When I connected to WiFi on the phone it says that its connected in 2.5 GHz but I have no luck pairing the device

I created a 2.5 Ghz hot-spot WiFi network with my phone and was able to pair the bulb to that network with another phone, which leads me to believe that the problem is Vodafone modem

The modem doesn't seem to allow me to turn off the 5GHz band while I set up my devices. Any ideas on how to proceed?

I have tried a few other things like renaming the network to only alphanumeric characters and changing the password to only 8 digits.

I am trying to connect using the Tuya app.

Got this sorted, bought the cheapest router in DID and set up an independent WiFi network for smart devices. Had no trouble pairing the devices.

Had the whole thing sorted in less than an hour, including trip to DID.

Can't believe that there is no simple fix for connecting to the Vodafone router, I wasted 3 evenings messing about with the router.
