Can you lose your full balance on your betting account if you use your own card but have the account in your spouses name? when asked to provide KYC documents and details

Yep. Defo. Because in the eyes of the bookmaker ( And the regulator who keeps them in line ) you ARE NOT your spouse. If bookies didnt enforce the rule where by only the person who owns a bookies account may put money into it AND more importantly may take money out of it then they would find their arses in the bacon slicer being asked to explain how they allowed Mr Drug Dealer to deposit money from one account and then withdraw it into another account. AKA Money Laundering in its simplest form.

For some reason ( in their own interest obviously ) the bookmakers will allow the first deposit to come from any bank account but then should ( But dont always ) lock the account as they can see the funds came from a different person. Maybe add a card belonging to your spouse and do another deposit and go on live chat and explain the story they might let you withdraw the funds to your spouses account but thats a big IF.
