HKC GSM-WiFi problem

Hi all and I would be grateful for any comments and advice. I have upgraded my home security to a HKC 10270 V4 or higher and fitted a twin path GSM-WiFi unit to "J3, SP2" as instructed. I followed the procedure, set up the Securecomm account, and scrolled through the settings to enable both GSM and WiFi. Down loaded the App which is working on my mobile. However I am unable to get the unit to connect to GSM. The panel shows that GSM is enabled, the scanning goes to 100%, it then lingers on "connecting" and then results in "no signal". I observed the unit, and the GSM status led is on constant red, indicating a disabled state. I have disabled and enabled the GSM a number of times with the same result. I have also powered down the alarm board and reseated the GSM-WiFi unit, and still the same. My mobile shows that there is GSM signal in the location at the alarm panel, and I am wondering is the GSM-WiFi unit faulty and not communicating with the alarm board? Has anyone any experience of this situation.
