Network switch not working only with one Ethernet port

so I had a single Ethernet port in my kitchen connected directly to my sky box working flawlessly.

I needed a second connection to connect in the kitchen so bought a switch but when using the switch my devices can’t obtain an IP address.

I tried the switch in another part of the house and it works fine the issue only happens with my kitchen Ethernet port

I have also tried rebooting everything while it’s hooked up in the hopes it will assign an IP but nothing
