Small Home Virtual Host Server

Hey guys.

Looking for a bit of help. Looking for a box that would physically fit in a small wall mounted cabinet, either 1u or Micro Form Factor. Requirements really would be just be powerful enough to run the box as a virtual host capable of spinning up 2 ....3max machine. Wont be heavy demands on each machine some syslog, cacti, pihole level kinda stuff....64bit cpu preferred.

So far I've the Dell Optiplex line on my list (however model choice is extensive) so looking at any other alternative suggestions.

I run pihole, git, tautulli, smokeping, uptimekuma on a single host with plenty of headroom for more. SATA expansion ports if you need additional storage.

I'm running an OptiPlex 7060. Upped the RAM to the max, but otherwise standard. Running about 30 containers on it and have plenty of overhead.

I've a 7060 too. Lots of power for your euros with the second hand price on them at the moment.

I went for the MT version and use it for ZFS storage and containers. Try get a four SATA port config if you do that; some are just three.

I actually ended up going with an Asus PN50. Using proxmox as my virtual s/w environment and about 8 VMs including a virtual f/w and working without flaw.

I have been using it for years. Also with the latest 6.12 Native ZFS is being applied. So if that is not your cup of tea then you can also just got with parity and disks.
