Android private dns

    Theres a private dns option.


    Options are off, automatic or enter dns.


    I cant work out what automatic does. Does it just use some google dns or ?

    "The Automatic setting attempts to use TLS encryption with whatever dns is currently assigned to your phone's connection. If it fails, then it reverts back to non encrypted dns"

    It can be used for ad-blocking but then if you connect to public wifi I find it cannot be accessed and connection wont work

    Open Android «Settings».

    «Network & Internet» > «Advanced».

    Select the «Private DNS» section.

    Type this address to «Private DNS provider hostname»:

    dns.adguard.com
