    // Solid fuel range

    // Pipes behind range banging when pump is on, but fire not lighting... used to only bang when it was lighting

    // The pipe in the hotpress where the pump is connected to is making like a grinding/creaking noise (noise not from pump itself.

    Hi, any suggestions welcome.

    Have a Stanley range. The range used to making a banging noise when lit, had a plumber out and he heard the noise and said nothing to worry about, might need a more powerful pump but nothing dangerous. That put my mind at ease. Then that night, when the range was cooling down it made a lot of banging sounds that just kept going on for 12 hours. If I turn the pump off at the wall, the noise stops.

    Also, I noticed like a creaking/grinding noise from the pipe the pump is attached to.

    Plumber was out and checked all pipework.

    Any suggestions what is actually going on here ?

    Cheers
