Acer Aspire 5552 Black Screen but fans etc still running?

    I have an Acer Aspire 5552 laptop. Nearly 10 years old. Windows 7 OS.

    My laptop, upon powering on, goes to black screen, but the power light is on.. it doesn't fully boot up/ start.

    I can hear the laptop cooling fan noise. The screen stays black.

    I have tried taking out the battery, leaving it out a few minutes, etc. But to no avail.

    Any suggestions for a fix?

    Help please.
