Qashqai rattle on idle

    Hi all,

    I will be doing the timing belt on this qashqai next week, but the owner is concerned about this rattle. Details:

    1. Only at idle on drivers side
    2. Only happens on a hot engine
    3. Comes and goes as steering wheel is turned
    4. Aircon has no effect
    5. Lights/Heater load on alternator has no effect
    6. No visible bounce on aux belt or movement on aux tensioner
    7. Engine isn't physically moving
    8. I can make it worse/better by pulling on and pushing the drivers side driveshaft.

    I replaced a driveshaft on another qashqai that had a bad inner CV joint, but it only made noise turning. Could a bad inner joint cause this rattle too?
