Water filtration system & grant

Currently refurbing an old house and had the water recently tested and it's not suitable for human consumption as it has a number of coliforms present. Luckily we have been using bottled water throughout.

So we're currently looking at various water filtration companies and we're getting back lots of varying prices and once we mention the grant from the council they start saying "Oh we didn't price you for the grant, that's going to be a few hundred more.."

Finding it hard to know who to trust or what company to deal with as a lot of them go in for the kill with a very intense sales pitch and a lot of them don't want to give any quotes in writing - you need to submit 3 written quotes to the council in order to approved for the grant.

Getting a bit confused by it all at the minute. Don't want to end up being robbed blind by some cowboys.

We would be looking for a water softener as we have hard water, a UV filter and something to remove the turbidity and grit and brown colour in the water.

Could anyone please recommend any companies in the west of Ireland please?

    Thanks
