Learner Driver Accompanied Rules

    Hey guys,

Learner driver, awaiting my test here.

Does someone who holds a license for an automatic car qualify as a licensed driver to accompany me when I drive a manual car?

I can obviously think of reasons why they wouldn't, but wanted to check. For example, I know when applying for insurance and adding a named driver, it requests their level of license, either Fully or Provisional/Learner Permit - does an automatic licensed driver fall under the former?

    Thanks

The accompanying driver must be licensed for the vehicle being driven. So no, the holder of an automatic license would not qualify in your case.

    Cheers,

Thought as much - surprised at how difficult it was to find that info though.
