Social Housing/HAP

Hi guys in dire straits with rent.

I was on the phone with the council who said there is no recourse if you're over the limit for social housing and in turn HAP.

The social welfare office said you could appeal the decision if your over the limit and they might take mercy.

Anyone have experience of this? Getting social housing if your slightly over the limit?

Any help at this stage is needed. Thank you.
