p drain problem

    hi,hope someone can help.my standard u shape p drain gave up recently and i went to davis plumming and the guy suggested a bottle p drain.i got it fixed in and was delighted(i'm a sparks)and all was well until a few days later and there was a foul smell in the bathroom,and i sniffed around until my nose brought me to the sink plug hole.desperate smell and i can feel air....so there is no water seal.i googled bottle drains pictures and mine looks right but its only when i look at it from the side it does not look right as in where is the trap?.....any help would be great.

    Have you picture of it? the pipe from the sink should go down below the outlet pipe so that the end is constantly submerged, are you sure it does.
