Automatic Gates unresponsive after powercut

I have automatic gates powered by a BFT unit. We had an electrician in working on something in the house and he had to turn off the power. When he turned the power back on, the automatic gates won't work (neither the gates or the keypad work) though there is power out there and the intercom works.

Is it likely there's a fuse gone in the BFT unit? The gates will not respond to the fob and the keypad is totally dead.

Any ideas on how to solve it?

    Thanks in advance,

    Aidan.

Sounds like your access control power is down. Do you have a remote for the gate also? If so does that work?

If not you would need to locate the inputs on the gate controller and manually trigger them to confirm the gate controller is good and work from there.

We have a remote for the gate and that is not working either sadly.

I'd start at the controller checking power and reaction to inputs.

I'm not actually sure where to start from here? Any ideas?

Well it looks like there's power on that anyway. Is there a seperate enclosure where your keypad etc is wired into.

From there trace the open close pair from the relay to that controller and manually activate the input.

While you took that picture was there something blocking your safety photocells ?

If not then I would begin there.

Is this what you mean by relay? Not really sure how to restart it. I have been sliding that red plastic thing but not has been happening.

Is there also still no power on your access keypad and reader etc? I'd be looking for their power supply first.

That relay has 12vac in for the trigger and the other pair will be an open close pair probably to start the gate.

If the gate isn't starting from that you will also need to check is any other the safety inputs are triggered as previously mentioned.

Sorry, I'm a complete amateur here. What are the safety photocells?

They are beams across the line of the gates that prevent the gates operating if anything is blocking them.

Looking at them, they appear fine but they have always 'clicked' when anything goes between them and they are not doing that either since the power cut.

I'd say open then or the keypad and try tracing the power cables to their power supply. That seems to be the main problem.
