Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I’ve ordered a guitar And amp from a German website. I’ve Used the site a few times. After the order was complete they’re saying free shipping doesn’t apply and they want another €85 because the order is large and heavy. I can cancel if I like but it’s for my daughter and she wanted that guitar and that site seems better value than other places.

Does anyone know if Walton’s ever do specials like at Black Friday etc? Should I cancel and wait for an offer on another guitar type thing?

    heres the guitar

the amp was a Bose Katara 100. I suspect that’s what the weight is from!!!

Have you tried Thomann. They have free delivery over 200 euro I believe.

I have used them and never had an issue. Or you could try a local shop and see. Boss katana is a popular amp and a good few places stock them

Just checked there 1274 delivered for the same guitar and the boss katana 100mk2

    does she need the 100watt

you could get the 50watt for cheaper, still has a 12inch speaker but no effects loop

If you buy them separately does free shipping still apply? It should if they're both over €200.

Yeah that’s what I paid because it’s free shipping. Ordered Saturday and today I hit an email saying

“you’re order will require an additional €85 for delivery due to it being large and heavy. Please confirm if you’d like to proceed with the order.”

the €1274 left my bank as soon as I’d ordered Saturday afternoon!!!

As another poster said, try Thomann. If the price is cheaper on musicstore, ask Thomann if they will price match first, they've done it a couple of times for me before.

Dunno. The amp is €100 cheaper there than Walton’s but if the amps weight is the issue then I’d rather pay €100 to Walton’s than €85 to them and just get the guitar with free delivery from them. I could get her the 50w amp in Walton’s for €270. She’s only 15 so I’m sure it’ll do her. It’s just her current amp is very basic and if I’m spending €880 on a guitar it should have a better amp. At least that’s my logic.

Yeah I just wrote a comment similar to that before I’d seen your suggestion re 50w amp. I’m sure it’d suffice. She really wants a fender and likes the look of that one. She has some squiers but I don’t understand why she needs more guitars. Anyway it’s a Xmas gift so I’m on the case anyway. if this was an Irish company I’d scream blue murder till I hit free shipping as advertised but I can hardly walk into their store in Germany

unless she's gigging or using a lot time/delay effects she won't notice the difference between 50 and 100W. you can pick them up on adverts if second hand isn't a huge deal.... https://www.adverts.ie/for-sale/q_boss+katana/

I always got the impression that a 100w is too loud for for people these days.
