It autocompletes with the suggested value I believe.

    They value it for you

The deadline has now been extended to next Wednesday.

According to their colour-coded map, my house would automatically be valued at 50% over what I've valued it at (not taking the piss) - so if your query is about your house, OP, I'd be getting on it.

I'm not 100% sure OP but I've heard reports if you don't, Revenue will engage (make contact) and that's were it might become complicated, Deadline has been extended until Wednesday next.

Is maith an scáthán súil charad.

    Interesting.

Anyone know if you can re-value your house next year ie if you put too high a value on your house and discover that houses near you have sold for less?

As far as I know the valuation for your house that you give this time is good for (at least) four years. So if the value goes up, your LPT stays the same, but also stays the same if values fall.

No, this valuation is for several years.

The 2013 valuation was for 7-8 years until now.

    England haven't revalued since 1991!!!!!!

Typically no - but I have seen a local tax office agree to correct the self-assessed value of a property over the preceding 4 years and issue a refund of an overpayment. They required a detailed submission and valuation from an auctioneer.

A somewhat related question, in the hope somebody can help.

Our house wasn't previously liable for LPT (it's a self-build, that was completed in 2016).

Knowing it would now become liable, I went onto the LPT website on Friday November 5 to apply for a property ID and submit a valuation, in order to be able to pay. I've heard nothing back about it since. Not even an acknowledgement to my email address to say something like "thank you, and we'll be in touch in due course".

Has anybody got any idea how long this thing typically takes?

I suppose the time of year with LPT submissions it's going to take longest, have you double checked your Spam folder that a response didn't go in there? Also it's a good idea to setup a MyAccount login with Revenue, this records your interactions with them so there will be a record of your communication stored and any responses coming from them.

Yeah, I've checked spam all right. Lots of the usual messages from horny singles who want to meet me, and from people who promise to make me rich, but nothing from Revenue about LPT.

Have already had a MyAccount with Revenue for a good few years, and nothing there either.

Ah well, suppose they'll get round to me sometime.....

Also still waiting for them to get back to me, but I applied late.
