Could someone give me a ballpark figure to retrofit a mhrv system in a 4 bed 1 bathroom bungalow

I would have said 6-8K for a good MVHR and install. You can half that by saving on the unit and the fact a bungalow is much easier to retrofit than a standard 3 bed, this may save on labour. Stick to a passive house certified unit if you can afford it, much quieter. A good design should also address duct noise - ask to visit previous local job or talk to them about their system. Last thing you want to sleep deprivation by your other half!!

An air tightness test should be considered as air will start to move in new ways that may only show up new problem in years to come. Addressing of course increases cost.
