VW CC 2.0TDI Thermostat

I have a 2013 VW CC (manual). During even long journeys the coolant temp never seems to go above 70C unless I'm stepping on it or else on the motorway. Oil temps stay around the same.

From researching it seems as if it could be the thermostat. It looks like it may be ever so slightly outside of my DIY capabilities to change it. Anything else I should check for?

Any idea how much I might expect to spend to get it replaced?

    Thanks
