This has been asked before, but is there a system where you can record 2 saorview channel at the same time. I know you can do it with a freesat recorder box record two freesat channels but can it be done with saorview, even record one and watch one channel.

The problem with Saorview is the RTÉ decided to split the channels over two frequencies or muxes. Most boxes only have one terrestrial tuner which means you can only watch/record from one mux at a time.

    RTÉ1, 1+1, 2+1, Jr and VM3 are on 1 mux

RTÉ2, TG4, VM 1+2, RTÉ News are on the other.

The simplest solution is to record on the box while using the TVs tuner to watch something else. It is also possible to buy additional USB tuners to add to a box which would then allow recording/watching all Saorview channels at the same time.

    Exactly as Gerry says.

I have a Saorview Combi, it has Saorview and Satellite free to Air channels on it, if I record something on the box, I can either watch another recording on the box at the same time or switch back to the TV input and watch any Saorview channel.

There are DTT PVRs out there that record 2 Saorview channels e.g. Panasonic have very good ones but I guess you want a combined FTA Satellite/Saorview system that records 2 Saorview channels..
