Stanley Range - Banging sound, goes when high heated up..

Hi guy's, I am using a Stanley Superstar solid fuel range now for the past 8 years or so, but getting this weird issue now.

Basically, while the range is heating up, there is a constant banging/tapping coming from inside the range. This has happened in the past if the range was too hot and I'd put on both hot taps and it would go away after a couple of minutes but this is staying for 30+ minutes.

The circulating pump went on me around 4 weeks ago and I got a brand new pump installed. When this noise is occurring, if I turn the pump off, the noise seems to go away, when I turn the pump back on, it comes back, but as I said, the range gets really hot the banging noise just goes away and the range works as it should.

When I got the new pump, I never got 2 dials changed, they look like temp dials. I have both set to 40c, origianlly it was at 60c. Could it these need to be changed too ?

Or could there be air in the system that is causing this ?

    Any suggestions welcome.

    Thanks

It's a very Irish thing that, '' I have so much heat I turn on all the hot taps to let it escape''

I hear people say this so often.

Any banging in pipes is last of flow, maybe turn up speed on pump.

    Thanks for the reply.

Yes, tried the different speed levels on the pump and still the same. It was set to 2, I tired 'auto' and now have it set to 3. I'll give a a good clean out on Tuesday and drain down the system too. The guy that installed the pump didn't drain it down, just turned the cylinder off in the hot press with a lever. I have no idea about plumbing so just want to get the feelers out to what it 'could' be.
