Cutting a padlock

    Is there some kind of small or mini circular saw that would cut a large padlock with a lost key?

    A handyman tried two big snips and bent both. Said it needed an angle grinder but that he wasn't insured.

    A hacksaw would work. Takes a few minutes.

    If the 'handyman' broke 2 bolt cutters on it, it's probably a hardened steel padlock. A hacksaw blade would probably go blunt very quickly.

    Angle grinder is the universal key.

    FYI, if you move to a 'smart' meter electricity plan, you CAN'T move back to a non-smart plan.

    You don't have to take a 'smart' meter if you don't want one, opt-out is available.

    Buy drinks in 3L or bigger plastic bottles or glass bottles or cartons to avoid the DRS fee.

    I had a similar situation (well, a few times tbh) and used two or three spanners to open a fairly large padlock, the method is in this video:

    I've used the 'one spanner flat on bottom and applying force upwards with a perpendicular spanner' method towards the end of the video.

    Had to stack a couple of spanners another time i used it - as the bigger ones wouldn't fit into the shed door loop the padlock was on. Then one on top and pop goes the lock.

    Really simple, takes seconds once you have the right spanners. I'm not very strong either so its just a matter of getting the right leverage. Hope you get it open!
