If I was to post an original idea on Boards.ie Who would own the Intellectual Property ?

If it is a protectable idea, then you would. If it's "Has anyone ever seen bat poo smeared on freshly baked bread", then that might not be a protectable idea.

However, if someone was to take your original idea and merge it with something else, then they might own it.

    You cannot copyright an idea.
