Hi Currently have Samsung Galaxy A70 and the Samsung Galaxy Watch 42mm I am looking to change out my phone but not sure if i am stuck to Samsung because of the watch (which i don't want to change!) If not, any recommendations on a Samsung phone to upgrade to around the 300/350 mark?

I have one connected to a realme no issues, friend of mine has one attached to a Poco f1 again no problems.

You initially lose some functionality ECG for example switching to non Samsung but few bits of software tinkering and all works fine
