Old unused vent pipe causing mould in room below

    Hi

There is an old unused vent pipe coming out of my roof - circled in yellow in the pic. It has been replaced by the other pipe in the pic at the side of the house.

My bathroom is directly below this old pipe and I have had a problem with mould in the corner of the room. I have been trying to keep it clean but the ceiling plasterboard now has a small hole it. Through this hole I can see daylight so I went into the attic to investigate and realised that the old vent pipe is just cut off above this point of the ceiling. It isn't capped or filled or anything as far as I can tell.

I'm just wondering what I should do to close it up. And hoping that that will stop the cold air above the ceiling and stop the mould returning once I've fixed the ceiling.

    Thanks
