Steel cover over fuse box - any issue?

Hi, there's an ugly visible fuse board/panel in my hallway. I was looking to get a wooden cabinet around it, but it's placed awkwardly near the coving with a doorbell chime very close beside it and a thermostat dial underneath. So I was struggling to find anything that would fit around it and not foul on the other items.

Thinking outside the box, the Steel box from my monitor stand is the right size to slip over the plastic fuse box and thin enough to go in the gaps to the coving and the chime, and give a nice plain white finish (on a white wall anyway)

But is there any issue in putting a steel box (it's powder coated white) sitting directly on the plastic top of the fuse box?

It's deep enough to not interfere with any switches tripping etc, but I'm just being cautious about a metal box very close to electricity!

it's this Stand/Box btw: Elloven Monitor stand with drawer (Obviously without the drawer in place, I can't post links yet)
