What's with anpost

My parcel arrived in Dublin. Was due to delivery till 20th October now i get the updated tracking that my parcel is in Cork ! whats wrong with these people? Why send something to cork without delivering?

The system simply made an error and sent to the wrong delivery unit.
Looks like it was only dispatched on 20th by whoever was sending it, and would normally have a delivery of the next day
With 2m parcels a week, a few get mis-sorted and sent to a wrong depot.
From a logistical point of view it's easier to send back to Dublin and sorted correctly due to the automation of the systems even if the correct delivery unit is a few km down the road.
