Removing used 24hr ticket from Leap card - possible?

I added a 24hr ticket to Leap card a few weeks ago. I activated the ticket, and took journeys on that ticket. Now, as I present the card, the reader checks that ticket first, and then checks the "purse". As a result, the transaction is maybe 5-10 seconds longer than normal. Not that I know of. I had the exact same issue last year. But even worse, the reader wouldn't read the new ticket that I loaded and kept trying the old one! I had to get my card replaced to sort it.
