-Thinking of upgrading the home heating system at home.

Theres an article in the UK Which magazine stating that their government plans to get rid of gas boilers to achieve lower carbon targets by 2040. (85% of UK homes have gas central heating!). Heat pumps seem to be the main alternative.

I wonder if we can expect the same happening here in Ireland?

This refers to new builds. If you've already got one they're not going to be calling around to remove it.

The ‘Which’ article states that 23 million customers ‘will have to switch from … gas central heating to unfamiliar low-carbon systems’.

    -Seems quite a radical shift!

This will be wonderful. I wonder how their squeaky creaky grid is going to cope with the extra 23 million customers
