For the past two days, my laptop has been reacting far slower than usual.

I wasn't that low on hard drive space but I still deleted a bunch of files and folders to see if it would help but had no success. I also scanned the computer with Malwarebytes and quarantined some possibly malicious files. That seemed to work but later on, I switched my computer on again and it was back to acting just as slow as before. I scanned again but nothing came up this time. Can anyone help?
