Hi all - looking some advice - was due to be traveling to SA in a months time with Trailfinders. They’ve contacted me saying one of the entry requirements is valid travel insurance (I can’t see it anywhere) and that it’s currently in a “Avoid Essential Travel” security status.

are there any insurance companies that supply insurance regardless of DFA advice? Any other comments welcome!

Sounds like bollox to me. Cant find any mention anywhere for travel insurance being a requirement.

Neither on any SA government websites or Trailfinders website itself.

Just need your negative PCR test less than 72 hours old.

No advice on the travel insurance. I would ask the travel agency to send you a link to show where this requirement is stipulated.

No insurance required. However, it is a good idea to have it in case you catch covid, break a leg, meet with an accident or something & need to change flights / miss your flight be repatriated etc.

For the cost its a no-brainer. Think I used to pay about €90 for an entire year's coverage.

If you are going on a tour arranged / run by Trail finders they may have a mandatory insurance requirement. But it's not officially required.
