Separation agreement- who can act as a witness

Very quick and to the point question- once a separation agreement has been drafted and assuming that both parties are fully in agreement and willing to sign who is required to witness the signing of the agreement? Can the witnesses be family members or do you have to get peace commissioners, a notary public or similar to witness?

I've read what it says here On Citizen Info:

But it's not exactly clear on who the witnesses can be. It does mention "making a separation agreement a rule of court" which (I believe) is unnecessary in my case.

    Any insight would be appreciated.
