Im surprised this has not come on the radar here today as a rare enough event.

Due to direct hit at around 7pm our time today ( most pass us by though have been a few close calls previously ) . May carry on into tomorrow. Rare enough event. The biggest solar storm on record occurred in 1859 and is known as the Carrington Event.

This has potential for power outages plus possible interference of Satellites etc .. but really at high altitudes. Also might be seeing the Northern Lights from Ireland

Seems, in some quarters, the MSM and media are egging this a bit more than it is .. ie the damage it might cause. The usual hysteria. Though it is a rare enough event and worth noting all the same.

The unknown unknown is this is first event of this kind and size to occur in our Technology age.
