Buying US stocks in dollars or euros?

I'm using IBKR.
If you have the choice of buying US stocks in dollars (NYSE) vs in euros (Frankfurt stock exchange), which is the better option?
The bigger American exchanges have higher liquidity, but then you're dealing with currency exchange fees.
I plan to hold long-term and won't be trading.
