Hair Talc

Not sure if this is the correct forum, but anyway. Got my hair cut today and the woman put some talc from a small red jar into my hair to style it. Does anyone know what this could have been? Does it brush out easy compared to products such has promade, wax or beach spray? Thanks.

Could have been a volumising powder? You put it in the roots to hold volume. I can't compare it to pomade etc but whenever I've used powders I've found them good for hold and it brushes out grand.
