Return Postage Faulty Item

Hi, I recently purchased a car part from a Dutch website with an .ie domain using Paypal. Part sent turns out to be faulty. After supplying photo's supplier agrees that it is faulty and they will replace or refund but only after receiving the item back.

Problem is they will not assume postage costs and it will cost more to post this back than it did to buy in the first place.

I can understand that they would not cover costs if I had ordered the wrong part or something but this is faulty. Surely it's their responsibility??

Correct, if the part is faulty then they have to pay for its return.

It's under the EU distance selling regulations.

They should be able to collect via the same service they delivered with.
