Replacement heating timer issue

    Hi all,

My old heating timer, a mechanical TRAC10 is no longer working properly.

I bought an EPH R17 timer hoping to do a straight swap out. I'm concerned that the pins and wiring though in my current setup dont match those in the new unit.

N, L and E are fine, but in the current wiring pins 1 & 2 are empty and there are brown wires in pins 3 and 4 (Top picture).

The EPH unit is empty at pin 3 (bottom picture).

I'm reluctant now to just go straight on with the new unit in case I do it some damage.

    Any suggestions?

Look like what's at 3 in Old one goes to 1 on new one. Rest the same. You could confirm this with a multimeter.

    Perhaps others will confirm this.

    MOD NOTE: MOVED FROM P&H
