Locksmith tool for opening hall door through letterbox?

My neighbour keeps locking herself out by closing the hall door with the key on the inside. She's had the locksmith out a few times and the last time he was there I saw him use a kind of right angled tool to pull the handle down through the letterbox. Only took a few seconds. Anyone know where I could get one for her because she's bound to do it again and it's expensive to get a locksmith.

If it was me I would replace the handle on the outside of the door, otherwise she will need to have the entire kit kept at another location, would it not be easier to just leave a spare key at the other location?

Replace the lock so that it needs to be locked to lock from the outside.

Wrong lock for what she needs. I'd change it

She had her keys with her. Trouble is she had the spare key in the inside of the lock so she couldn't open it from the outside because the key was blocking it. I would look after the tool for her but that's a hefty price! Thanks

Change the lock to the tumbler type inside.

If she gives you the spare key she won't be able to leave it in the lock.

My neighbors either side of me have spare keys for my home. I have spares for their homes. This works well for most people
