Relatively new to Portlaoise and wondering what clubs and societies are around, post covid.

Hurling and football days are past me, though fairly fit.

Lots of sports clubs in Portlaoise. GAA, soccer (numerous teams), rugby, basketball, boxing, badminton, athletics, golf (course very central to town) and I'm sure there's loads more. Also plenty of groups of lads who play 5 a side on the astroturf. Strangely, I don't think there's a tennis club. A few different gyms. Parkrun every Saturday in Vicarstown is good craic.

Post Covid, I'd imagine pub quizzes will start to resume. There's a Lions Club, Rotary Club, the library runs a book club and again I'm sure I'm missing loads of other obvious ones.
