    Hi all,

Would anyone be able hazard a guess as to what this box is? I just need to figure out if it's related to the telephone network.

Not a good pic, where is it located?

Maybe some more pics, is it black or white, are you digging up the site,is it outside?

Yeah, not a great pic. It's a silver box but sandwiched between two foir canopies. I think I'll need to take down the canopy to check really

It's just the cable for the old master phone socket is coming through from the door area to hall, and this looks like the only box.

    Thanks though

Ok, so the white "box" looks like part of a gutter?

Telephone junction box, where the network drop cable joins to the house phone wire.

Yes the white part is part of the gutter on a door canopy. A telephone junction box makes sense. Would you know if an engineer had access to this box, would FTTC come from that box to inside the house.

FTTC will come through this connection. Generally there will be a screw somewhere on the cover to open it but if connecting to FTTC they won't need to access the connection unless they are troubleshooting a fault.

    I don't see any box.

Right, thank you. I had an engineer out who felt that the neighbours external insulation had covered this box and just said they couldn't do anything. TBF, the way this box is setup, I couldn't see him getting access to it anyway, but good to know it is probably that.

    Thanks all. Very much appreciated.
