I just noticed that IMDB TV is now available on this side of the pond. It has some great movies and TV shows on it and all for free (with ads). You don't have to be a Prime member. The catalogue is not as big as in the US but hopefully it will improve in time.
A dedicated app is not available yet but it's playable from within the Prime app.
I don't know if this is available directly in Ireland but for anyone with UK Prime it should work.
