shrub for FULL shade

    Hi all

I have a NE facing corner of the garden up between the house and wall and I am trying to find an attractive striking tallish shrub/fern/other?? to catch the eye that will tolerate full shade. This corner gets no direct sun at all.

I was initially thinking of getting a Japanese maple but they seem to generally grow to about 10 feet and that would be too much up beside the house, plus they actually need a bit of sun if you are going to get the colour. I'd want something up to 5 feet at most. And preferably something not too dense so it is not blocking light into the house.

    Any suggestions?
