Hi I’m just looking for help I moved into my council apartment in may and it’s lovely but there is only one thing I’m not able for is the bathroom it was a bath and I’m badly needing a proper shower. I’m disabled and on disability allowance, is there a grant or help I can get to get the bath taken out and a proper shower put in.

    Thank you

The council really should have made it habitable for you before you moved in. Contact the social work department in the council and contact your local health centre to get an occupational therapist to write a report for you.

You could easily have one installed ,the council may not put one in unless you physically can't access the bath .

In saying that some councils and the likes of cluid ,tuath , circle don't allow you do to major work until your there a year and even at that it's usually limited to what you can do
