    Hi,

Could you tell me if it is allowed or legal to fit a switchover box to a domestic house?

I am worried about impending powercuts etc and thinking I'd buy a small generator so I could at least just run the central heating and the lights. I wouldn't be thinkin of using any heaters or cookers or kettles. Just keeping the place warm.

So I was thinkin of using a switchover box to allow me to have a generator take over if power stops.

    Thanks
