Hi guys, I'm in the process of a renovation and am not planning on having the architect involved. Is there any legal requirement for an architect sign off or is it just an engineer sign off that's needed?

Either/or. Just make sure they have the appropriate insurance cover.

Depends on the nature of your project which route you go with Building Regs, lender approval, etc. and whether you need formal sign off.

If you do need Building Regs sign off it can be an architect, engineer or building surveyor - provided they are registered with the appropriate professional body.
