Google Pay and rooted devices?

I rooted my Samsung phone and this is the one and only downside. It seems that Google Pay is the only app that absolutely refuses to work. Even AIB was easy to fool with MagiskHide. My question is mainly, why does Google care if you're rooted that it doesn't want Google Pay being used on rooted devices?
