Has anyone seen this yet? Watched it last night and really enjoyed it. Much more intimate and emotional than the stage production with a couple of big songs missing.

Ben Platt was amazing in the titular role, and while he didn't exactly look 17 he didn't look too far off. He played the awkward troubled teen perfectly. The only thing I found a bit jarring was how young the main girl looked in it.

Saw this earlier having known nothing about it..........couldnt believe it when the main guy breaks into song straight off the bat. I hate musicals(La la land and the greatest showman being the exceptions). Thankfully though it wasnt the kind of musical where they sing every single line of dialogue. I just couldnt get onboard, not because of the songs but because the main character was Immersed in self pity from start to finish. He was just not a likeable person. Amy Adams was good, as she always is and the guy who played Connor's step dad was very good too. I'd agree about the girl who played zoe, she looked about 14.

I also didn't know it was a musical, but that didn't detract toomuch from it. Very interesting premise for a story I thought.
