Does Tesco mobile Nano SIM work in phone from Amazon?

Thinking of getting a phone from Amazon and keep existing number & Nano SIM. Just wondering will this be a complicated process? Do unlocked phones from Amazon accept Irish mobile network SIM cards, e.g. Tesco mobile, Vodafone, Three Ireland?
